Due to the nature of 360 degree content storyboarding and planning narrative beats and direction for auidences attention is alot harder than traditional 16:9 style content as there is no clear way of knowing where the end user will be looking at any one time. We can direct auidences attention (see directing auidences section) however as a production crew it can be hard to visualise or pre-plan a 360 shot via the traditional methods.

A top down perspective can be one way to plan a shot with windowed snapshots of key action moments labelled alongside a spherical positional diagram.

Key interest moments can be storyboarded, one technique that is sometimes explored where possible is pre-capturing 360 images of set spaces if filmic and drawing upon them highlighting motion, ideal interest points on where you want audiences to ideally be facing and a timeline for pacing.
