Introduction

The first video in this 5 (6) part animation series serves as an introduction to what we will be making and some of the tools we will be exploring.

Reflections - RedGiant Plugin

We look at how the Redgiant VFX Reflection plugin can be used to make a simple water reflection. This plugin is not free.

  • Learn how to create a 2 Minute 360 animation in After Effects

  • Creating Reflections

  • Export 360 animation

Creating a 360 Animation

In this video series, we will be looking at how we can create a simple animation from scratch within After effects that can be exported and viewed on VR players and in 360 degrees.

The principles of animation remain the same as if animating a standard film as such we will be skimming over some areas such as key-frames so it is expected that you have some basic knowledge of After effects and Key-framing before attempting this task.

Composition Settings

In this video we setup our new project and create our composition 6080 x 3040 (2:1) at 25 fps.

Reflections - No Plugins

We look at how we can make a water reflection without any plugins or additional tools / programs.

Creating the Animation

In this bumper sized video we create the animation from scratch (assets already made via Photoshop and Illustrator) and explore the importance of nestling compositions and offset tools

Export Animation

Once our animation is complete we need to prepare it for exporting and will be using Premiere Pro to inject 360 / VR Projection metadata.
